On the occasion of Valentine’s Weekend, Wishes and Blessings, Delhi-based NGO, distributed cupcakes to street children across Delhi/NCR.
New Delhi, February 15, 2021: Spreading Love show destitute children that they are loved and cared for, and to give them a piece of happiness, on the occasion of Valentine’s Week, Wishes and Blessings, a Delhi-based NGO, distributed cupcakes to over 1,000 street and underprivileged children across Delhi/NCR.
The NGO invited baking Spreading Love enthusiasts and established bakeries and cafes across the NCR to share the love and donate cupcakes for this special drive under the #WBCares campaign. Volunteers as well as home chefs contributed to this unique initiative. The drive took place keeping in mind the broader values that Wishes and Blessings believes in, including those of empathy, sympathy and altruism. The team distributed the donated cupcakes over the 12th and 13th of February in major locations including Okhla, Vasant Vihar, Nizamuddin, Munirka, Noida, Gurgaon, Madipur village, Israil camp, Sarai Kale Khan, Sadiq Nagar, Maharani Bagh amongst others to street children, children living with HIV, children living with visual impairment, orphaned children, homeless children and underprivileged children. Special care was taken to ensure that all social distancing protocols were observed during the distribution process.
Commenting on this drive, Dr. Geetanjali Chopra, Founder and President of Spreading Love said, “All children deserve to live a childhood that is full of care, love and warmth. Unfortunately, street children do not have access to luxuries like cupcakes as their families have only enough to cater to immediate and basic needs. We are so blessed to have with us a community of bakers and volunteers with a heart who have come together to spread love to those who need it the most. The smiles we have seen today are truly priceless!”
Khushboo, a beneficiary from Modi Mills said, “I am feeling so happy today! In February we always see ads for chocolates and cakes but we can never have them. Today, didis and bhaiyas have come to give us yummy cupcakes and I feel much loved. Thank you for giving my friends and me so much joy today!”
Amit, a beneficiary from Vasant Vihar said, “It feels so nice to know that there are people who care for us, and want to help us feel included. The cupcake was so yummy… I’m going to remember this day forever!”
Participating bakers and bakeries included Baked by Mehak, Binge Bakery, Bisque Bakery and Patisserie, Blissful Bakes by Tara, Bread in Box, Carnival Kitchen, Cravity, Freshly Baked, Maxim’s, Mother’s Fable Kitchen, Rose Café, Sugar is My Sidekick, Tete a Tete Cafe, The Culinary Courtyard.

Spreading Love Wishes and Blessings is a registered NGO based in Delhi. Set up under the aegis of Dr. Geetanjali Chopra in 2014, the organization cuts across the spectrum of gender and age to help those who need it. The NGO is a unique platform to connect donors and beneficiaries, to bring together those who are blessed to help those who have unfulfilled wishes. They believe that happiness is not just an end, but a means to an end as well, and therefore do not have one focus area but 9 causes among which are skill development, infrastructure, education, and hygienic food.
