Foods that are good for your liver

A good diet is essential to keep your liver and your overall body fit and fantastic—the liver functions as a filter, removing undesirable by-products while retaining nutrients from the food consumed. However, not all foods or types of foods are created equal when it comes to liver health. As a result, particular nutrients for liver health must be consumed.

Sohini Banerjee, the dietician at Fortis Hospital in Anandapur, Kolkata, spoke to Health Shots about the foods that promote liver health.

“The liver recreates a key part in the human body because it helps to eliminate all pollutants,” Banerjee explains.

This is particularly true if an individual has a condition that affects the liver, such as cirrhosis or Hepatitis C. These illnesses can make it difficult for the liver to function correctly. As a result, some liver-specific foods must be included in the person’s diet.”

Foods for liver health that can help lessen the effects of liver disease include: Grapes
Red and purple grapes are exceptionally healthy for liver health since they contain various beneficial plant chemicals. Grapes, which contain resveratrol, are also helpful to general health and well-being, as evidenced by several studies.

Juice of beets
Beetroot juice is high in nitrates and betalains, antioxidants that promote heart health and minimize oxidative damage and inflammation. It also contains antioxidants, vitamin A, vitamin B-6, and iron, which help protect the liver from inflammation and oxidative stress while also improving its ability to remove toxins.

Cruciferous veggies are cruciferous vegetables.
Cruciferous vegetables include brussels sprouts, broccoli, and mustard greens, which are noted for their high fiber content and beneficial plant components. Brussels sprouts and broccoli sprout extract have been proven in animal experiments to help raise the levels of detoxifying enzymes and shield the liver from damage.
