Hyderabad NGO recognised with “Innovation@Covid-19” award

Youngistaan Foundation received a Special Mention award in the category of ‘Innovation@COVID-19’ in the 7th Social Media for Empowerment (SM4E) Award 2020-21

Hyderabad NGO: Youngistaan Foundation’s COVID-19 Relief Support has been recognised as a Special Mention for the year 2020-21 in the category ‘Innovation@COVID-19’ for helping people during the covid 19 pandemic by creating an online pool of volunteers and organisations at the 7th Social Media for Empowerment (SM4E) Awards.

A total of 145 nominations across 7 categories from different countries were received during the pandemic, out of which 28 initiatives were selected after the first round of screening for the final evaluation by the Jury. 

Speaking on the recognition, founder of Youngistaan Foundation, Arun Daniel Yellamaty, says, “We are humbled by the recognition. All the volunteers, donors, other Hyderabad NGO, government bodies have been working very hard to help as many people as possible during this pandemic and it’s been a hard time for all. We need to continue to stick together and believe that we will overcome these tough times. Let us continue to be there for each other and follow all the safety protocols. We all are in this thing together and only together we are stronger.”

Addressing the Second Wave of COVID-19, Hyderabad NGO: Youngistaan Foundation has set up a solid 40 member volunteer team who are generating real time availability of beds, oxygen generating devices, isolation centres, food centres, free transport facilities in Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and other states of the country. Volunteers are also contacting the beneficiaries in person and assisting in verifying the resource on phone with an aim to avoid all the hassle a patient’s family goes through in those testing times. In addition, during the first Wave of COVID-19, the Foundation has worked in tandem with Telangana Sate Police, GHMC, Revenue Department, 40 partner organisations and served over 20 lakh meals to people from 16 different communities, distributed PPE kits to frontline workers and many more.
