Promising Young Woman Cassie goes on a date with Ryan Cooper, a former classmate who informs her that Al is getting married. She devises a strategy to seek vengeance on Al and others who helped him get away with the rape. Madison McPhee, a former classmate, and friend, appears and continues to deny Nina was raped. Cassie gets Madison wasted and hires a driver to take her to a hotel room. Madison leaves multiple anguished voicemails for Cassie, who does not answer them since she has no recollection of what transpired.
