World’s most expensive islands!

Lanai Island – worth $500 million – It is only natural that the most expensive island in the world has a renowned owner – in this case, Oracle founder and CEO Larry Ellison, who is presently the world’s ninth richest person, with a net worth of about $40 billion

It’s also fitting since Ellison is well-known for his love of sailing, both recreational and competitive – I guess the super-rich have their way of mixing their interests. Ellison purchased 98 percent of Lanai, Hawaii’s sixth-biggest island, from fellow billionaire David Murdock for roughly $500 million, earning the island a well-deserved top spot on our list.

Rang Yai Island – $160 million – Rangyai is only 20 minutes from Phuket International Airport. It is equally as lovely as its more renowned neighbors, with thick tropical woods, magnificent white sandy beaches, and an incredible view of it the Indian Ocean. The 110-acre island also has a high price tag, estimated to be over $160 million.

Ronde Island – $100 million – Ronde Island is another private island in the Caribbean that has not been developed in any form like most of the sites on the list. This will hold up to the ultimate owners to either transform it into a resort or preserve it as a private piece of heaven for themselves.

This 2,000-acre treasure is on the market for $100 million. It has gorgeous scenery, abundant animals, and even a swim-through tunnel that leads to an underground cavern adorned with stalactites and quartz crystals.

Necker Island – $100 million – Richard Branson purchased Necker Island in his late twenties. It may have looked strange that the founder of the Virgin brand would be interested in what was then a barren, underdeveloped island someplace in the Caribbean, but when you think about it, it is a part of the British Virgin Islands, so there you have it.

Necker Island, which was purchased for $180,000 in 1978, is now worth $100 million and is home to an exclusive luxury resort that can accommodate up to 28 people.
