TEAM introduces Unstarted to document journeys shaping Mumbai tech ecosystem

Launched in collaboration with Z47 ahead of Mumbai Tech Week 2026, the series features founders like Harsh Jain, Revant Bhate, Sanket Shah and Jaydeep Barman, with Aakrit Vaish noting its focus on decisions and realities behind building in Mumbai

A new content initiative is shifting attention toward the lived experiences of founders in Mumbai’s startup ecosystem as Unstarted, a video series by The Tech Entrepreneurs Association of Mumbai in collaboration with Z47, begins to take shape ahead of Mumbai Tech Week 2026.
The series moves away from traditional startup storytelling centred on funding and scale, instead focusing on the decisions, challenges, and turning points that define entrepreneurial journeys. Through one on one conversations, it brings forward moments that are often not part of public narratives, including early setbacks, unconventional choices, and the persistence required to build businesses from the ground up.

Aakrit Vaish, Co chair of the TEAM Governing Council, said, “We started TEAM with a simple mission to help build Mumbai’s tech ecosystem. And a core part of that is telling the stories of what’s already been built here. Mumbai has always been a city of resilience and fundamentals, where value creation matters more than noise. I’m excited that we’ve partnered with Z47 on Unstarted to bring these stories to the surface. Not just how founders have built generational companies, but why they chose to build them from Mumbai in the first place.”

The series features founders such as Harsh Jain of Dream Sports, Revant Bhate of Mosaic Wellness, Sanket Shah of Invideo, and Jaydeep Barman of Rebel Foods, among others, who share insights into the realities of building enduring companies.
Avnish Bajaj, Founder and Investor at Z47, said, “Mumbai has always been where commerce meets conviction. And in a city that never sleeps, it’s an amazing combination. And it’s seeing a resurgence with world class infrastructure that brings builders back to India’s land of dreams. Unstarted is about capturing the unfiltered reality behind the dream, the moments of doubt, the unconventional bets, the decisions that never make it into a pitch deck. The real story of building in Mumbai is richer and more instructive than any headline. That’s what we’re committed to bringing to the surface.”

The series also positions Mumbai as an active influence in shaping entrepreneurial journeys, highlighting how the city’s commercial depth, diversity, and pace contribute to decision making and long term business building.
As momentum builds toward Mumbai Tech Week, the initiative reflects a broader shift toward more experience led storytelling within the startup ecosystem. It also reinforces Mumbai’s position as a key centre for innovation, where access to capital, enterprise networks, and evolving technology adoption continue to shape new ventures.
By focusing on the human side of entrepreneurship, Unstarted aims to deepen the conversation around innovation by moving beyond outcomes to the realities that define how companies are built.
