MG Mumbai organizes EV drive and felicitates female ecopreneurs

Through MG Sewa, the automaker has been continuously working toward empowering women from every walk of life.

Celebrating the ZS EV as the face of future-forward electric mobility solutions in India, MG Mumbai today organized an EV drive for the ZS EV owners.

The EV drive was in line with the automaker’s continued commitment towards boosting the adoption of EVs in India, and by extension, the brand’s focus on encouraging sustainability, diversity and community-centric endeavours in the country.

The drive amassed registration from MG ZS EV owners who were proud to be a part of the EV revolution in India.

As a part of MG Sewa, a special felicitation ceremony was also organized at the event in association with UNIMO, the world’s largest community of mothers which has half a million women connected over Facebook and WhatsApp and is present at 22 hyperlocal locations globally.

The event offered greater recognition and support to four female entrepreneurs, who are tirelessly working towards promoting sustainable business models through recycling and reusing.

The eco-preneurs felicitated were Pratibha Patil and Vikhe Puarse, both of whom sell articles they make from recycling waste materials, Vaishali Subhash Bajare, who works with rural self-help groups to make low-cost, eco-friendly sanitary pads, and Rupali Londe, who set up 2000 SHGs that make agarbattis using waste flowers.

Commenting on the event, Mr. Gautam Modi- dealer principal, MG Mumbai said, “The ZS EV has been a strong purveyor of MG’s commitment towards the future of sustainable mobility in India, and hence we decided to celebrate it by bringing together proud ZS EV owners for an EV drive.

As partners of the brand, we share MG’s vision and mission, which is why we partnered with UNIMO for organizing a special felicitation ceremony under MG Sewa initaitive to celebrate women eco-preneurs, for their continued efforts towards promoting eco-consciousness. It has been our great pleasure to have like-minded individuals with an affinity for saving the environment here, making positive strides towards imbibing sustainability into the very fabric of the country.”

Through MG Sewa, the automaker has been continuously working toward empowering women from every walk of life. So far, various skill development and felicitation programs have been conducted by MG under MG Sewa. These include MG Prerna, a skill development program designed for women, and MG Changemakers, a platform that recognizes successful women in India who have made a difference in the lives of countless others through courage, determination and grit.
