A couple from Tamil Nadu successfully hosted the first Metaverse wedding celebration

Dinesh SP and Janaganandhini Ramaswam held their wedding reception in Metaverse.

Remember the couple from Tamil Nadu who made headlines for holding their wedding reception in the Metaverse? It was a successful and one-of-a-kind event for Dinesh SP and his fiancée Janaganandhini Ramaswamy, who desired to celebrate their wedding with all of their loved ones but also needed a safe manner to do it during the pandemic, which is how Dinesh SP came up with the idea of such a wedding.

They also had an avatar of Janaganandhini’s father, who had died away during the wedding. Dinesh SP, a project associate at IIT Madras, and his fiance, Janaganandhini Ramaswamy, a software developer, held their wedding reception at Hogwarts castle’s favorite location.

“Simply described, a Metaverse is a digital space represented by digital representations of people, places, and things,” the groom says. In other words, it’s a “digital world” in which real individuals represent digital stuff. In many senses, Microsoft Teams or Zoom are already Metaverses. You are physically there in the room, but you could be a static image, an avatar, or a live video. As a result, the Metaverse serves as a broader environment for “bringing people together.”

The pair met on social internet and instantly fell in love. They were finally able to persuade the family after overcoming various obstacles.
