Amit Sharma, Whole Time Director, Matrix Geo Solutions Limited, said the 30 month mandate will use drone led monitoring across the 271.97 km Luni Samdari Bhildi double line corridor to improve visibility, coordination, and timeline control.
Matrix Geo Solutions Limited has secured a project monitoring contract from North Western Railway for the ongoing Luni Samdari Bhildi double line project, expanding its work in railway infrastructure oversight.
The company said it has received a Letter of Acceptance for aerial videography based monitoring of the 271.97 km corridor. The contract carries a value of INR 3,07,62,599.51 and will be executed over 30 months.
The project will use drone systems to track construction progress across the rail corridor through regular aerial surveys and data capture. The monitoring framework is intended to support better visibility into execution, quicker identification of deviations, and stronger coordination among stakeholders as the project progresses.
Under the plan, advanced UAVs equipped with high resolution cameras and sensors will capture 4K geo tagged video data along the alignment each month. The captured data will include GPS metadata mapped to each frame and will be post processed for change detection across key stages of construction such as earthwork, ballast laying, rail installation, bridge construction, and related infrastructure activity.
Matrix Geo Solutions said this approach is expected to improve execution control while supporting tighter project timelines, better on ground safety, and higher transparency in reporting. The company also said the use of drone led monitoring could reduce the need for physical site visits by senior officials by around 50 percent and reduce reporting turnaround time by about 25 percent.
Amit Sharma, Whole Time Director, Matrix Geo Solutions Limited, said, “This mandate from North Western Railway further expands our work in railway infrastructure projects. Corridors of this scale require continuous oversight and precise data to keep execution on track. Through UAV led monitoring, we aim to provide clear, real time visibility into progress, enabling faster decision making and better coordination. We are confident in our ability to support efficient execution while maintaining strong control over timelines across the project lifecycle.”
The company brings more than 25 years of experience across the United States, Europe, Africa, and Asia, working on infrastructure and industrial projects across sectors including railways, highways, mining, water resources, power transmission, oil and gas, and urban development.
Its services include satellite imagery, drone enabled data capture, aerial mapping, mobile mapping, GIS, and remote sensing. Matrix Geo Solutions said this range of capabilities supports large scale, multi kilometre assignments where accurate and timely geospatial intelligence is essential for planning, monitoring, and execution.
The North Western Railway mandate adds to the company’s infrastructure monitoring portfolio and reflects the wider use of drone led project oversight in large public works where progress tracking, reporting accuracy, and operational efficiency are increasingly important.
