Centum Electronics Limited in India and Indra Sistemas S.A in Spain have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to solely collaborate on high-end futuristic radar systems and technologies for the Government of India.
The agreement calls for the radar for space applications to be manufactured and tested.
Long-range radar is designed to detect, monitor, and analyse objects and debris in space from thousands of kilometres away.
Mr. Nikhil Mallavarapu, Executive Director, Centum Electronics Limited, and Mr. Jaime Manuel Temes Giménez, International Director for Defence, Indra Sistemas S.A, signed the MoU in Gandhinagar on October 20, 2022, during the “Bandhan” event at Def Expo 2022.
“The country would benefit from bridging a critical technical gap that exists.” This exclusive collaboration will also benefit the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s objective of Atma Nirbhar Bharat by allowing the country to manufacture the majority of high-end microwave, digital, and power electronics gear.”

Centum Electronics was represented by Mr. Vinod Chippalkatti, President, and Cdr Subhash Ahlawat IN Retd, Director, in addition to other top executives.
This agreement will strengthen Centum’s indigenous Radar technology capabilities while also producing more money in the coming years.
