Apple iPhone 13 ‘Made-in-India’ Model: Will the iPhone 13 Become More Affordable in India?

The Apple iPhone 13 will be the company’s next ‘Made in India’ smartphone. According to reports, the business would produce the iPhone 13, sold in India and exported to other nations. The Apple iPhone 13 will be made in the Foxconn facility in Sriperumbudur, which is close to Chennai. Sources revealed the information in a Business Standard piece this week.

According to the source, production of the iPhone 13 will begin in India in April. However, just because the iPhone 13 will be manufactured/assembled in India does not indicate that the iPhone 13 costs would fall anytime soon for users. This is because already began manufacturing the iPhone 11 and 12 in India, but the prices did not decrease. We can only anticipate iPhone 13 pricing to drop if Apple or e-commerce companies like Amazon, Flipkart, and others launch a holiday promotion. iPhone local manufacture began many years ago with the iPhone 6 series, and even then, we didn’t observe any pricing changes for the iPhone models from Apple.

The newer iPhone 11 and iPhone 12 are also on the list of domestically built iPhones. In addition to Foxconn, has depended on Wistron, Foxlink, Flex Limited, and a few other Indian vendors for its local production infrastructure. The country’s government has also approached about establishing a manufacturing plant. However, Apple’s insistence on specific tax breaks and the requirement to obtain local materials has made progress difficult.

This year, Apple is set to establish its first retail location in Mumbai, which was planned to open in 2021, but the epidemic is likely to push those plans back.

In October of last year, Apple released the iPhone 13, including the iPhone 13 Mini. The iPhone 13 Mini’s base model was priced at Rs 69,900 in India, while the vanilla iPhone 13 model was priced at Rs 79,900.

The iPhone 13 series was powered by Apple’s new A15 Bionic processor, which comfortably outperformed competing for flagship chipsets from MediaTek and Qualcomm in the market.
