Review –

Soorarai Pottru could have been a lot more motivating, if not fascinating if director Sudha Kongara had cut out the extraneous songs and emotions.

Sudha Kongara’s Soorarai Pottru is an exciting story of an ordinary individual with enormous goals, based on Captain GR Gopinath’s Simply Fly and aviation industry stories. The story centers around Nedumaaran Rajangam (Suriya), the son of a schoolteacher (Poo Ramu) in a Madurai village who decides to build a low-cost airline that can be aspirational for even the most disadvantaged. Soorarai Pottru is unmistakably a Suriya production. He receives his meatiest role a long time after 24, and the actor digs in with his usual intensity, making us experience Maara’s every thrill and agony.

Overall, the writing is rather good. In addition, the filmmaker provides us unforgettable moments and exciting characters from the clever analogy of an Udipi hotel vs. five-star.

She employs to let the viewer comprehend her protagonist’s ambitions to the beautiful scene of an entire community chipping in with their money to make this dream come true. Some characters are functional, such as Mohan Babu’s Naidu, Maara’s rigorous higher officer in the army, and Maara’s buddies (Vivekh Prasanna and Krishna Kumar), but there are standouts as well. Like Poo Ramu’s Rajangam, a fantastic Urvashi, who gets a meaningful part in Tamil for the first time, and Karunas as Bommi’s uncle Alapparai.
