1st ODI: Pakistan Eng versus Pak I’m certainly not so awful; this match should be rapidly forgotten, says Shahid Afridi.

In Cardiff for the first One Day International, former Pakistani skipper Shahid Afridi responded to the national side’s dreadful nine-wrap loss to a second-string squad from the UK.

“This contest should be forgotten as quickly as possible! Pakistan, I’m sure they’re not as awful; come on, lads, on Saturday, let’s fight vigorously on Lord’s, “Winner Shahid Afridi tweeted World T20 2009.

“It was a great performance on the new side of the look from England.” On Tuesday, a day after seven members of his first choice of limited team, England gave over debuts to as many as five players as they were left to battle a whole new team, tested positive for Covid19. The remainder had to be isolated since the ECB wanted to take no chances and track interactions.

Former players and rested players were recalled from the county championship. Phil Salt, Zak Crawley, the first drop batsman, John Simpson, and mid-order all-round Lewis Gregory, and Brydon Carse, a fast-fast bowler.

Saqib Mahmood, the right-armed rapid bowler, played his 5th ODI only, passed Pakistan top order dismissing Imam-ul-Haq and Babar Azam for zero in the first three-match balls. Pakistan could never recover from the early shock.

For 141 runs in 35.2 overruns, Pakistan was packed out. The first scoring for Pakistan was Opener Fakhar Zaman (47). Saqib Mahmood collected four wickets for England.

In response, England completed the mark in 21.5 overs with nine wickets in the shed over the six months of Dawid Malan and Zak Crawley. The pair added 120 races to the second bowling assault of Pakistan.

In the second ODI in Lord, London, on July 10, visitors will play England before meeting for the final series in Birmingham on July 13.
