Titan, 1 lakh trees planted across India

Titan Company announced the launch of the ‘Go Green’ program to plant 1 lakh+ trees and traverse the path of a greener India with the goal of responsibly owning the environment we live in and building a brighter, greener, and cleaner future for future generations.

Titan’s ‘Go Green’ program kicked off in a novel fashion with a Marathon Relay run with a communal vow to plant trees along the route from Pantnagar to Bengaluru.

The Titan ‘Go Green’ run flagged off from Pantnagar (20,000 trees) on 10th September and reached via Delhi (11,500 trees), Ajmer (7,500), Vadodara (7,000 trees), Surat (7000 trees), Mumbai (7,000 trees), Solapur (7,000 trees), Kurnool (7,500 trees), Ananthpur (7,500 trees), Hosur (8,000 trees) and has reached its final destination at the Corporate office Integrity at Electronic City in Bengaluru.

As a part of the ‘Go Green’ plantation drive, the locations for tree plantation and native species of plants were identified and planted, such as Terminalia elliptica, Calophyllum inophyllum, Rudraksha tree, Maha Vilvamin, in an effort to create an ambient environment with an aim to mitigate the impact of the climate change in India.

The initiative mapped 1 Lakh trees across 10 locations along the marathon route in the span of 40 days and over 3000 Kms were covered through the continuous relay race.

Titan Company will conduct a series of planting drives under the ‘Go Green’ umbrella programme, encouraging employees and their families to plant trees in collaboration with the NGO ‘BiotaSoil Foundation,’ Tata Motors, and Tata Power.
