When it arrives at our to-do checklists, we begin each day with the best intentions and determination to complete them. Yet, we look at how many tasks haven’t been ticked off that ever-growing list. Consider how much of your day is wasted needlessly if you’re confused about being more productive than you already are.

Keep track of your time.

If you don’t know where your time is going presently, it’s challenging to figure out how to spend it more effectively. Permitting yourself to do something you enjoy can be a simple reward. “Take the afternoon off, meet a buddy for coffee, or read a nice book,” Marshall suggests.
Make room in your schedule for unscheduled leisure.
Being productive does not imply that you must fill every second of your day with “productive” tasks. If you plan for the unexpected, you won’t have to rush a job or settle for subpar results. According to Vanderkam, it’s better to pick 3 to 5 key activities to complete every day and cross them all off your list than to aim for 20 and cross some of them off at random.
