NIA detained many PFI leaders across India

The popular front of India is known as an Islamic religious extremist outfit in the nation. The National Development Front’s successor has a large oragnisational network group in India. They allegedly claimed that the organisation is working for peace, justice, and equality. But have a controversial grass root network among the masses: the national investigation agency and the Enforcement directorate jointly operating in different parts of the country.

In 2012, the Kerala government claimed that PFI is a new form of SIMI organisation (Students Islamic movement of India. The PFI allegedly involves links to terrorist organisations abroad and getting foreign funding in India. In 10 states, including Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Delhi, Guntur, Kurnool. PFI has allegations of planning for the rising Muslim population, promoting love jihad, and getting assistance from foreign terror funding.

PFI Chairman OMA Salam and State president CP Muhammad Basheer were taken into custody from Malappuram’s Manjeri. The probe agency also arrested Delhi PFI chief Parvez Ahmed and his brother from Okhla at 3.30 am on Thursday.PFI, in a statement, said the “raids are taking place at home and offices of national PFI leaders. PFI is described as neo -a social movement coming to empower people in the minority, Dalit, and suppress people of society.’ We strongly protest against the fascist government.

PFI is vocal about Muslim reservations where they will get marginal representation. In April 2013, Kerala Police raided a training camp in Narath, Kannur, and arrested 21 activists of the PFI. Two country-made bombs, a sword, raw materials for making bombs, and pamphlets in the name of PFI were seized by the police. The raid was conducted at the office building of Thanal Charitable Trust. A document with names of several leading personalities and organisations was also seized, which police suspect is a hit list. The PFI leadership and those arrested claimed that it was a Yoga training program organised as part of a personality development program. They asked for a judicial probe by a sitting judge to inquire into the alleged training camp. PFI’s state president claimed that this police case was fabricated in a bid to tarnish the organisation’s image. On 18 May 2013, the NIA arrived to investigate the alleged extremist activities in

PFI had much criticism for jihad-related agenda, profound forceful conversion, forceful Ransome, kidnapping, extortion, and other unlawful activities. PFI also had activities like spreading hatred, freedom conference, anti- CAA protests, and also protest against international religious issues. Earlier banned SIMI organisation is involved in Mumbai train blast.

Out of the PFI leaders arrested, 22 were picked up in Kerala, 20 each in Maharashtra & Karnataka, 10 in Tamil Nadu, 9 in Assam, 8 in Uttar Pradesh, 5 in Andhra Pradesh, 4 in Madhya Pradesh, three each in Delhi & Puducherry and 2 in Rajasthan.

PFI is allegedly engaging in funding and organising terrorist training camps and spreading religious hatred between two communities. After a high-level meeting of Home minister Amit shah and the union ministry secretariate joint operation held by NIA and ED officials across different states in India.
