Indian Bank conducts blood donation camp at Chennai

Indian Bank is a central nationalized bank. The Ministry of Finance of the Government of India owns it.

It was established in 1907 and is headquartered in Chennai, India. It serves over 100 million customers and is one of India’s top-performing public sector banks, with 41,620 employees, 6,004 branches, 5,428 ATMs, and cash deposit machines. The bank’s overall business had reached 930,000 crores (US$120 billion) as of March 31, 2021.

The bank’s information systems and security processes have been ISO27001:2013 certified, making it one of the few institutions globally to do so. It has international branches in Colombo and Singapore and a Foreign Currency Banking Unit in Jaffna and Colombo. It has 227 Overseas Correspondent Banks spread throughout 75 countries.

The Government of India has owned the bank since 1978. According to an announcement made by Indian Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on August 30, 2019, Allahabad Bank would merge on April 1, 2020, making it the country’s seventh-largest bank.

Shri S. L. Jain, MD & CEO, Indian Bank inaugurated the Blood Donation Camp at Corporate Office, Chennai today. Large number of staff members enthusiastically participated in the blood donation drive. The initiative is a part of bank’s “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” where 122 units of blood were collected in association with VHS. The Executive Directors of the Bank, Shri V.V.Shenoy and Shri. Imran Amin Siddiqui, besides, General Managers, other executives and staff members were also present on the occasion.
