BOAR Community Cares Selects B.E. A S.H.E.R.O. Foundation as Its 2021 Charitable Giving Partner

Virginia Knudsen, Founder and CEO of BOAR, a business leadership experience, executive program, and global community, officially announced that B.E. A S.H.E.R.O. Foundation (SHERO), located in Southern Nevada, is the recipient of the BOAR Community Cares (BCC) Program.

BCC chooses one nonprofit annually for the community to support, provide volunteers, and complete a 3-day fundraising blitz effort.

In its second year, BCC invited more than 40 local nonprofits to apply for the program in an effort to make a difference in the community. Out of all the applications received, the BCC committee members chose SHERO to support during its 2021-2022 program year, providing continued support in donations and volunteering throughout the 12-month period.

The B.E. A S.H.E.R.O. Foundation is a volunteer-driven nonprofit organization whose mission is to empower young girls and women who have been abused, abandoned, neglected, and exploited. SHERO does this by being a resource to girls in vulnerable situations, victims of sex trafficking, and affiliate partners in the Las Vegas community.

The COVID-19 pandemic has put the world under an enormous strain. At first sight, the measures taken to flatten the infection curve may seem to dissuade domestic violence, abuse, and exploitation – it may also be driving it further underground and impacting the capacity of authorities and other organizations to provide essential services to victims. Most importantly, the pandemic has exacerbated and brought to the forefront the systemic and deeply entrenched economic and societal inequalities that are among the root causes of abuse an exploitation. SHERO has been, and still is, on the forefront of providing effective case management while collaborating with other community organizations to effectively address these challenges.

BOAR is committed to creating partnerships within the community that benefit humanity; engaging, educating, and empowering people to live in courageous contribution. Inspiring ourselves and those around us to be role models who inspire and nurture the human spirit – one person, one leader, one business, one community at a time. SHERO is a great fit for the BOAR Community.

In August 2019, Knudsen officially launched the Boar Courageous Community of personal and professional development programs that include the BOAR Room, a premier Mastermind Group designed to advance businesses and business executives to higher levels of profits and performance. “In the Boar Room, we strive to engage, educate, and empower people to not only live courageously, but to seek to better the world through a state of heightened awareness and deeper base of knowledge,” said Knudsen.
