Ecopetrol S.A. (BVC: ECOPETROL; NYSE: EC) informs that it has released the text of the amendments to its bylaws that will be submitted for consideration at the General Shareholders’ Meeting, which will be held on March 26, 2021.

Ecopetrol is Colombia’s largest firm and is an integrated oil company that is among the 50 largest in the world and the four largest in Latin America. In addition to Colombia, where it generates over 60% of the country’s production, it is active in exploration and production in the United States (Permian basin and Gulf of Mexico), Brazil and Mexico. Ecopetrol operates the largest refinery in Colombia, most of the country’s oil-pipeline and polyduct network and is significantly increasing its share of bio-fuels. This press release contains statements relating to business prospects, estimates of operating and financial results, and Ecopetrol’s growth prospects.

Ecopetrol, formerly known as Empresa Colombiana de Petróleos S.A. (English: Colombian Petroleum Co.), not to be confused with the US owned and operated Colombian Petroleum Co. (COLPET) and sister company South American Gulf Oil Co. (SAGOC), dating to the 1930s and taken over by the state owned Ecopetrol in the 1970s, is the largest and primary petroleum company in Colombia. As a result of its continuous growth, Ecopetrol forms part of the Fortune Global 500 and was ranked 346.[2] In the 2020 Forbes Global 2000, Ecopetrol was ranked as the 313th -largest public company in the world.[3] It was ranked 303 in 2012 by CNN Money.[4] The company belongs to the group of 25 largest petroleum companies in the world, and it is one of the four principal petroleum companies in Latin America

All are projections, and therefore are based solely on management’s expectations of the company’s future and its continuous access to capital to finance its sales plan. Achieving these estimates in the future depends on its performance under given market conditions, regulations, competition, the performance of the Colombian economy and industry, and other factors; therefore, they are subject to change without prior notice.
