In Madhya Pradesh, eight smugglers were arrested with weapons intended for Maoists.

Eight weapons smugglers claimed Maoist ties were apprehended in Madhya Pradesh’s Balaghat district’s Kirnapur police station area. The Maoists were planning a massive attack, according to authorities, but their intentions were thwarted. All of the arrests took place in woodland near the police station.

The traffickers were caught with a large number of firearms, including AK-47s and explosive devices. The males were arrested with a 32-inch handgun, magazines, eight gelatin rods, cell phones, and two cars.

Smugglers from Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Rajasthan have been apprehended, according to Inspector General Mohammad Farid Shape. He said that these individuals had previously been imprisoned for a similar act.

The gang used to provide Maoist forces all across the Balaghat district with firearms. According to intelligence assessments, Naxals were planning a large-scale attack this month, utilizing the weapons recovered by the police.

The Maoists received a cache of illicit firearms brought in from Madhya Pradesh and Sikligar in Rajasthan. Ghanshyam Aanchale, Sanjay Chitrajhoda, Vijay Koreti, Rohit Butani, Shakeel Khan, Tausif, Wajid Taithri, and J are the eight suspects apprehended.

Sanjay Naji and Rohit Shivabhai Butani of Mumbai, Ghanshyam Shivlal Anchale and Vijay Jivan Koreti of Gondia (Maharashtra), Shakeel Khan and Wajid Taithari of Kota, and Tauseef and Jitendra Agrawal of Jhalawar have been named as the accused (both in Rajasthan).

According to the senior officer, the accused were supplying ammunition and other vital equipment to Maoist organizations active in the MP, Maharashtra, and Chhattisgarh tri-section through Gondia-based Ghanshyam Anchale and Vijay Korea. “In the last year, they gave supplies to Naxals seven to eight times and earned Rs25 lakh,” he added.

During questioning, the accused further disclosed that Maoists had planned a significant attack on cops during the (martyr’s week) observed by the rebels around the end of July. “Ghanshyam is known to be quite a catch. He communicates with several Maoist leaders. We’ll learn more when they’ve been taken into prison, “Shape said.
