For the upcoming Dussehra Melava, there is an ideological and legal battle between both for occupying ground for the Dusshera Melava speech. After a long struggle between Shinde Sena
and Thackeray Sena, it is a tough call for Shivsainiks to decide. A lot of confusion in the minds of Shivsainiks forces them to come on the streets for the final battle.
For ages, Shivsena was founded in 1966, except after two years of covid 19 restrictions, Shivsena Dusheera Melava takes place in Shivatirtha; Shivaji Park ground in Dadar.
It is a formal occasion of Shivsena to gather party workers and listen to the speech of the Party Supremo and celebrate it as an important Hindu festival.
From 1966 to 2012, subsequently same party chief Balasaheb Thackeray gave a speech in front of lakhs of Shisainiks. It is a world record together to gather people to listen to one man for a prolonged period.
Dusshera is an important festival for Hindus, especially Shivsena, to present their thoughts on current national affairs.
It is a political speech, but the style of vocabulary, aggression, and Shivsena-style dialogues of the Thackeray family made Dushhera special for Shivsena workers.
This year, the MVA government recently collapsed after CM Eknath Shinde and his rebel MLAs; things have changed drastically. The party hierarchy is divided between Shinde and Thackeray groups from the party establishment, party structure, and party offices.
Both groups are claiming ownership of the party, including the symbol of the party. This power tussle came to the fight for Shivaji Park ground for Dusshera Melava.
Though Eknath Shinde is the current chief minister, Uddhav Thackeray and associates took a tough call to announce Dusshera Melava in only Shivaji Park ground. Thackeray group is trying hard to retain Shivaji Park ground as it is heritage for Shivsena.
Shinde group is also pushing for the same. However, Uddhav Thackeray is waiting for approval on their choices given to BMC.
Thackeray group is awaiting a decision to finalize the plan. If there is any discrepancy in the BMC decision, they are ready to seek justice in court.
Shivsena party leadership gave orders to party workers to celebrate Dusheera Melava at Shivaji Park ground in any case. Eventually, CM Eknath Shinde and the BJP coalition government are in power.
Shivsena’s existence is at stake by inner partition. Now it is time for both groups to prove their hold on Shivsena.
