Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, 7 December 2022: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy said BCs are not backward classes, but they are the backbone of our society while addressing the mega gathering of BC leaders from 175 constituencies who have come to attend the Jayaho BC Mahasabha held in Vijayawada on Wednesday.

“It is a matter of pride to witness the BC family and making the Mahasabha a grand success,” said the Chief Minister while highlighting the government’s various welfare measures for the BC community. He noted that the AP government had disbursed Rs 1.63 lac cr to the BC community under Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) and Non-DBT techniques in the last three years. In DBT alone, Rs. 86,000 Cr has been distributed to the people.

“Out of the total expenditure of Rs. 3.19 lac Cr expended by the government in the last three years under DBT & Non-DBT (for all the schemes), Rs. 2.5 Lac Cr has been spent for the SCs/STs/BCs & Minority communities alone.

That is, 80% of the expenditure has been faithful to the minority communities,” said the Chief Minister amid thunderous applause. Five types of empowerment measures done by the YSRCP govt
Financial empowerment through DBT and Non-DBT, Political empowerment through reservation in posts, Social Empowerment through financial and political empowerment, Women Empowerment, and Empowerment of the youth through various schemes to benefit them.
Political Empowerment: Our govt has concentrated on distributing constitutional power among all communities. Our govt has sent 4 BCs to Rajya Sabha, and in the state legislative council, out of the 32 MLCs, 18 are from the BC community. The Assembly speaker is from the BC community. Council Chairman is from the SC community, and the council deputy chairman is from the minority.

Our government has assigned BCs, SCs, STs, and minorities with 11 BC MLAs as ministers, and overall, 70% of the ministries to BCs, SC, STs, and minorities. In local bodies, out of the 635, 239 MPP posts were given to BCs, which is 38% and 67% collectively for SC, ST, BC, and minorities. Agri marketing committees: Out of 196 positions, we gave 76 to the BC community, which is 39% and 60% collectively for SC, ST, BC, and minorities.

Govt corporations: Out of the total 137 posts, we gave 53 to BCs, which is 39% and 58% collectively to SC, ST, BC, and minorities. We established 56 corporations for BC, 3 SCs, 1 for ST, and 684 director posts in the corporations for all the SC, ST, BC, minorities communities Social Justice Temple boards: 50% was given to BC, SC, ST, and minorities; Village and ward secretariats: Out of 1.3Lac jobs, 83 of it was given to BC, SC, ST, and minorities. We generated employment for 75% of the people from BC, SC, ST, and minorities.
Women Empowerment
We have given 30Lac house pattas to women: In this, 75% of them belong to BC, SC, ST, and Minorities, and kept assets worth Rs.2 to 3 Lac crores in the hands of women. To women from dokra groups, through YSR Aasara, we disbursed Rs. 12,758Cr. In this, Rs. 9,294 Cr was given to women from BC, SC, ST, and minorities, which is 73%. In the next 1.5 years, we will disburse Rs. 12,758Cr to these women. To the dokra women, under Sunnavaddi (Interest-free loans), we have given Rs. 3,615 Cr.

In that, Rs. 2803 Cr was given to BC, SC, and ST minorities which are 78%. Jagan govt has given Rs.14,111 Cr under YSR Cheyutha for women from SC, ST, BC, and Minority. Jagan govt under Jagananna Ammavodi has disbursed Rs. 19,617 Cr. In that Rs.15,378, Cr was disbursed to women from BC, SC, ST, and minorities which are 78% Empowerment of Youth Schools developed under Nadu Nedu: We are conducting classes in both English and Telugu. We re also affiliating the schools to CBSE. 100% fee reimbursement, and TDP is opposing it. But they do not realize we’re clearing the arrears left by the previous govt.
