Shadow and Bone is a modern adult fantasy experience and debut novel penned by Israeli-American artist Leigh Bardugo. Macmillan Publishers published it on June 5, 2012.
Alina Starkov, a juvenile orphan, reveals the book. She turns up in the Russia-inspired nation of Ravka when, unexpectedly providing a power she nevermore knew she had to preserve her childhood best mate, she becomes a game of intrigue and destruction. The first chapter in the Shadow and Bone trilogy is supported by Siege and Storm and Ruin and Building. It is also the namesake and support for the Netflix agreement Shadow and Bone, which premiered in April 2021.
