Famous Food Of Gujarat

  1. Chana masala – A North Indian delicacy, is a zesty chickpea stew that is typically eaten as a snack, main course, or breakfast. It is arguably the most popular vegetarian food in India, and may be found on railway stations, at work, in school canteens, or at ceremonies and festive occasions throughout India and Pakistan.
  2. Muthia – is a traditional Indian dumpling or fritter made with chickpea flour, turmeric, chilli powder, fenugreek, and salt. The mixture is sometimes further glued together with oil or sweetened with sugar. Muthia can be fried or steamed once formed, depending on personal preference.
  3. Dhokla – which originated in the Indian state of Gujarat, is a vegetarian snack made of fermented chickpea batter and rice. Spices such as chile and ginger are mixed into the batter to enhance the flavour of the dish. When baked, dhokla is frequently decorated with coriander, coconut, or chopped chillies and served with besan chutney.
  4. Dabeli – Although it originated in Kutch, Gujarat, India, this substantial snack is popular throughout the country. Dabeli is created with toasted ladi pav buns and a filling of mashed potatoes and a spice blend that typically includes coriander, turmeric, cardamom, fennel seeds, coriander, chilli peppers, and other spices.
  5. Patra –  is a classic Gujarati vegetarian dish made of healthy colocasia leaves stuffed with a mixture of garam masala, gramme flour, mustard seeds, sesame seeds, turmeric, chilli paste, and asafetida. After that, the leaves are rolled, steamed, then fried or deep-fried until crispy.
  6. Gujarati kadhi –  is a popular summer dish that can be made with plain yoghurt or fresh curd. The light, creamy foundation is combined with besan (gramme flour) and carefully cooked with spices such as cumin and mustard seeds, ginger, and chilli peppers.
