Assistance to the Poor

A service might be something that is done in exchange for money. However, social work is done freely, without any expectation of return, remuneration, or recognition.

Poor: We’ve recently heard a lot of folks claim they’re performing community service.

Poor: What does this imply exactly? What type of social assistance is desired and desired? Isn’t it the government’s responsibility to look after its citizens’ needs? Is there a need for certain persons and organizations to enter this sector if this is the case? In every democracy, and especially in a socialistic democracy, the government has a significant deal of responsibility for providing social services and ensuring the general well-being of its population. Our government is also in charge of a variety of welfare initiatives in our country.

It offers education as well as medical care.  The welfare of the oppressed and disabled is also taken care of. These activities cannot be classified as social service because the government is doing them as part of its welfare program. As a result, social service must refer to anything else performed by an individual or an organization. A service might be something that is done in exchange for money. However, social work is done freely, without any expectation of return, remuneration, or recognition.

Any assistance provided to the poor along these lines by an individual or organization might be classified as social service. Mother Teresa, for example, began her volunteer mission to care for orphan children. The Andhra Mahila Sabha is an excellent resource for women. These might be classified as acts of social service.

We also have the negative side of the photograph. Some interested and self-seeking gentlemen and ladies, who are wealthy and can afford to spend, establish different institutions in the guise of social service. That is an attempt to get social recognition and esteem from the general population. In many of these situations, they are based on the person.

In the guise of social service, reputable organizations such as the Rotary Club, Lions Club, Sri Satya Sai Baba Mission, Ramakrishna Mission, and others provide vital services to society. All religions teach that service to others is service to God. As a result, unselfish service to humanity as a whole may be referred to as genuine social service.
