Covid vaccination: VK Paul, a Niti Aayog member (health), stated that both doses of vaccinations give at least 98 percent protection against Covid-19 mortality, citing a study conducted in collaboration with the Punjab government by the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, Chandigarh.
Real-life research was done on state police officers. A total of 42,720 police officers received both doses of the vaccination, and two died, translating to 0.05 per thousand.

Nine police officers died out of 35,856 who received one dosage of the vaccination, a rate of 0.25 per thousand.

As the Centre claims to have increased the pace of immunization beginning June 21, specialists investigate the vaccines’ real-world effectiveness. CMC Vellore’s study on healthcare professionals found a comparable level of effectiveness.
