Karachi, the province of Sindh, South Pakistan’s town and capital. It is a significant economic and industrial hub and the largest metropolis and principal seaport of the country. Karachi is located just northwest of the Indus River Delta on the Arabian Sea coast. Caranjee, Crochet, Krotchey, Currachee, and Kurrachee has been named the city.
All its names include the Sindhi name of the old community, Kalachi-Jo-goth (that is, the village of Kalachi—the headman of the tribal population), which was originally located there. Its function initially stimulated Karachi as a port in the Indus River Valley and British India’s Punjab.

A low-lying coastal strip covers the harbor. Outside the shore, the soil rises gently to a vast plain north and east, 5-120 feet above sea level (1.5 to 37 meters), on which the Karachi metropolis is constructed. The river Malîr, a seasonal river, crosses the eastern part while the river Layāri, also seasonal, travels through the northernmost section of the island.
Mango Pīr, the highest elevation, is 585 ft high, and several ridges and secluded hills are in the north and east. For most portion of the year, Karachi gets beautiful weather. The hottest months of May and June are around 93 °F (34 °C), the mean maximum temperature.
In May and October, enervating weather spells sometimes exist, with temperatures reaching up to 105 °F (41 °C). The coolest months are January and February, at an average minimum of roughly 56°C.
In these months, sometimes a biting northern wind falls below 40°F (4°C). Relative humidity ranges from 58 to 82 percent in August, the wettest month in October the driest month. The average precipitation in June, July, and August is 203 mm, with most of the rainfall dropped during 9 or 10 days.
