Previews 8 garments in 4 segments to be launched soon. Honors 100 eminent Bengalureans who have brought name and fame to the city.
Bengaluru: It was a red-letter day for the legendary Bengaluru-based men’s suits brand, P N RAO. Their tagline, FINE SUITS 1923, truly epitomizes finesse, style, class, and elegance, so much so that when you walk into a gathering wearing a P N RAO fine suit, it will surely make heads turn. Having built an impressive reputation for dressing up the suit connoisseurs with the finest of finest suits, on its Centennial Year, P N RAO is all set to attract the women folk with a unique style, finesse, and elegance with a range of apparel for the discerning and fashion-conscious ladies.
With eight garments in four segments – two each in Women’s Business Wear; Women’s Smart Casuals; Women’s Tuxedo/Ceremonial attire, and Women’s Ethnic Wear in the initial phase, the zealously awaited women’s collection is just around the corner. Coming from the house of the tried and tested P N RAO, the women’s wear range, just like the men’s range, is sure to stop onlookers in their tracks for a second look.
At a glittering Fashion Show, models walked the ramp. They gave a sneak peek into the much-awaited women’s collection in the presence of Bengauru’s Who’s Who and executives from global fabrics manufacturing brands. The brand also showcased its Centennial Collection of its famous men’s wear apparel specially designed and crafted to commemorate its 100 glorious years, comprising ten styles and designs in the same four segments.
The new women’s range, designed in-house, stands out of the clutter for its material, which otherwise is not widely available in the market in women’s suits. Crafted using Wool, Polywool Lycra, and Ethnic Fabrics like Silk and Brocades, P N RAO’s suits range for women, amply peppered with richness, class, and finesse – the hallmarks of P N RAO, is a ‘must’ for the discerning women of today.
Commenting on its foray into the Women’s Wear segment, Naveen Pishe, Partner, P N RAO, said, “We have been receiving requests from many women for crafting suits for me given our long-standing history of designing the finest men’s suits. There is a shortage of qualitative women’s suits offerings in the markets, more from a fabrics perspective, which brought us to the moot question – ‘if WE can’t make women’s suits with all the expertise we have built over the years, then who can’? We set down to pattern making, and in one year, we have reached a point of addressing the segment taking into account their likes, dislikes, design preferences, and body structures to do justice to the suits”.
“The market for women’s business wear is still maturing, and as we see it will mature in about 5-7 years, by which time, we hope to create a top-of-mind recall for our brand’s women’s wear segment”, added Naveen Pishe.
To begin with, the women’s wear range will be available as a bespoke offering in two of its showrooms – M G Road and Indiranagar, both in Bengaluru.
Throwing light on the fabrics, patterns, and colors of suits for the women’s wear segment, Ketan Pishe, Partner, P N RAO, said, “Compared to a men’s suit, we have taken utmost care to choose the right fabric which gives it stretch, more suitable to a lady. In line with expectations, broad stripes, bold checks, and bright colors, which women can generally carry off well, will compensate for the product basket in the initial phase”.
Access to a wide range of global and domestic fabrics uniquely places P N RAO to craft top-of-the-line women’s suits range, combining style, pattern, and design to stand out from the rest of the players in the market.
Rounding off the evening, in a fitting tribute to 100 glorious years of the brand, which has stood the test of time, growing in strength, P N RAO honored 100 eminent personalities who brought name and fame to the city and have been part of the growth story of Bengaluru, akin to P N RAO. From business to art to sports to theatre, Bengaluru has a plethora of achievers who have put the city on the global map. “Honoring the eminent personalities from our city is our way of saying ‘Thank You’ for their immeasurable contribution, without whom Bengaluru wouldn’t be what it is today,” said Ketan Pishe.
