New Wonders of the World

A Swiss organization began an attempt to establish the New Seven Wonders of the World in 2000.

Since the 2nd century BC, the original Seven Wonders list was prepared — and one person alone still existed (the Giza Pyramids). And individuals across the world have consented to vote more than 100 million on the Internet or by text.

There was applause and jeers to the final results published in 2007 – several significant competitors, such as the Acropolis in Athens, have failed to cut off the results.

Great Wall of China
