Label Shivani Nirupam enters Bombay Times Fashion Week with a 22 look Midsummer SS26 collection

Shivani Nirupam, Creative Director and Founder, says the collection blends heritage techniques with modern silhouettes, while Sahher Bambba closes the Grand Hyatt Mumbai runway in a pastel embroidered gown.

Label Shivani Nirupam marked its debut at Bombay Times Fashion Week with the presentation of its Midsummer SS26 collection, introducing a range of Indo Western silhouettes designed for festive, occasion and everyday wear. The showcase took place on April 4 at Grand Hyatt Mumbai, positioning the label within one of India’s prominent fashion platforms.
The runway featured 22 looks, focusing on lightweight fabrics such as crape and chiffon across lehenga sets, sharara sets and draped sarees. The collection incorporated elements like scarves, caps and layered drapes, designed to offer versatility across different settings. A pastel driven palette including blue turquoise, lemon fizz, living coral, sweet lavender, cotton candy, cloud cream and lime green defined the visual direction of the collection.

Actor Sahher Bambba closed the show as the showstopper, wearing an embroidered gown that combined lime green and soft pastel tones. The presentation also saw attendance from Ameesha Patel and Aishwarya Sakhuja, adding to the visibility of the runway event.
Shivani Nirupam, Creative Director and Founder, said, “This runway marks a pivotal moment for Label Shivani Nirupam and Indian ethnic fashion. We have worked to reshape perceptions by blending heritage techniques with modern silhouettes that resonate with today’s Indian woman. Presenting Midsummer SS26 at Bombay Fashion Week carries profound significance. Fashion is more than our craft, it’s our deep passion, every detail crafted with purpose.”

She added that the collection focuses on versatile styling across occasions, from celebrations to casual settings, with design elements such as minimal pitta work, subtle shimmer, integrated beads and dabka detailing supporting the overall aesthetic.
The label, launched in 2022, has previously introduced collections such as World of Warli, Bambai Ki Baarish and Phool Bazaar, each centred on cultural themes and textile storytelling. Its design approach continues to combine traditional craftsmanship with contemporary formats, with an emphasis on multi use garments and material efficiency.

Shivani Nirupam said, “Label Shivani Nirupam blends traditional craftsmanship with fresh ethnic design. We create new standards for ethnic fashion. After this Bombay Fashion Week debut, each collection shares summer stories where old traditions meet modern brightness.”
The debut runway presentation reflects the label’s focus on expanding its presence within the Indian fashion space through collections designed for varied occasions, including weddings, travel and everyday wear.
