According to the Associated Press, the twister passed through southeast Wichita and Andover. After the tornado devastated the neighborhood, more than 15,000 people were left without electricity.

According to The Guardian, Kansas Governor Laura Kelly proclaimed a state of disaster emergency for the worst-affected districts. Aside from tornadoes, hailstorms were reported in various locations, including Holbrook, Nebraska, Enterprise, and Kansas.

Close-up footage posted by meteorologist Reed Timmer shows the twister smashing through Andover, with debris soaring through the air. Mr. Reed stated in the caption that the tornado, which caused considerable damage mainly in the Wichita suburb of Andover and injured several people, was classified as an EF-3 on the Enhanced Fujita scale, which is used to measure twisters.
The mayor of Wichita has stated that 50 to 100 structures had been damaged, particularly in the suburb of Andover. Fortunately, no significant injuries have been reported thus far. Despite the level of damage to buildings and cars, local officials stated that no deaths had occurred at a press conference.
Officials have stated that evaluations of the situation are still being conducted, with planes and drones being used to evaluate the damage. For the time being, the Andover Police Department has stated that roads leading into the city have been closed as emergency crews try to clear the debris and assess the damage.
More information will undoubtedly surface when the assessment is completed, but an EF-3 rating indicates that winds from the twister reached between 136 and 165 mph. Andover will take years to recover from the storm, according to Mr. Russell.
