While other nations are loosening their pandemic restrictions, the Chinese government has imposed travel restrictions, is conducting mass testing, and constructing massive temporary facilities to isolate every affected individual.

On the other hand, officials in China have consistently said that harsh Covid-19 restrictions, including protracted lockdowns, are essential to save as much energy as possible and contain the health system from becoming overwhelmed.
