At a rodeo in the United States, a father lunges instinctively to shield his son from a ferocious bull

Cody Hooks slid off the bull and lay motionless for a few seconds, during which the furious bovine turned around and charged at him, but his father’s rapid reaction saved the child.

No parent would hesitate to rush to protect their child’s safety, even if it meant putting themselves in danger. In the United States, a father is being praised as a “hero” for leaping in front of a furious bull to protect his son. A video of the heated moment has gone viral on the internet.

After a year-long hiatus owing to the Covid-19 pandemic, rodeo shows returned to Texas, and a young participant joined the excitement in Belton. As soon as the gate opened, the 18-year-old struggled to maintain control atop the beast, according to a video of the incident. The young man rapidly loses his equilibrium and is thrown into the mud.

Other bullfighters intervene and manage to divert the furious bovine’s attention away from the participant for a short time. When his father steps over, sheltering the youth with his own body, the bull immediately turns and heads towards the motionless rider. The beast charges with its horns, slamming into the father-son combination before fleeing to the other side. The entire thing lasted for only a few seconds.

According to ABC 13 News, the bullfighter, Cody Hooks of Louisiana, had travelled to Texas to participate in the spectacle. “The last thing I remember is getting down on my bull and taking my wrap, and that’s the last thing I remember before I got knocked out,” he explained.
Cody’s father, Landis, told the television outlet that his instincts kicked in at that critical moment. “To be honest, it’s not the first time I’ve leaped on someone like that.” “Stuff just comes from being surrounded by it all the time,” he explained. “I’m going to do what I’m going to do for him no matter what.” Did I enjoy it, or not? I didn’t like it at all.”
People on social media praised the man for his bravery and expressed relief that the father-son combo survived with minor injuries.
