Joydeep Acharya – Executive Housekeeper of JW Marriott Kolkata

Joydeep Acharya, a result-oriented professional with over 2 decades of experience in the hospitality industry has joined as Executive Housekeeper at JW Marriott Kolkata.

A career honed at luxury hotels, his expertise has contributed to leading international brands like, Swissotel, The Ritz Carlton, Starwood, ITC Hotels, Intercontinental Hotel Groups and The Oberoi Group where he was known to demonstrate diligent attention to guest experience and feedback. Some of his primary responsibilities included managing human resource activities, assuring patron contentment and effective communication across departments.

With a proven track record of exceptional teamwork, Joydeep initiated his career as a graduate in ‘Bachelor Degree of Hotel Management’ (B.H.M.) from Mangalore University and begin his career from The Cecil, Shimla- Oberoi Hotels and Resorts in the year of 2001. He was an integral part of the pre-opening team at The ITC Sonar- a Luxury Collection Hotel Following an 8 years stint at The ITC Hotels of successfully handling several managerial roles, he moved to Le Meridien Ahmedabad – Starwood Hotels and Resorts, worldwide as a Housekeeping Manager before moving to Bangalore. He worked as an Executive Housekeeper at Crowne Plaza, Bangalore – Intercontinental Hotels Group and then at The Ritz Carlton Bangalore.

Having made his mark at Crowne Plaza, Bangalore – Intercontinental Hotels Group and The Ritz Carlton Bangalore, Joydeep moved to the City of Joy, Kolkata in 2018 to join Swissotel Kolkata- Accor Hotels as an Executive Housekeeper. Joydeep was the Group Cluster Head of Housekeeping and Laundry at Sparsh Hospitals Group before joining JW Marriott Kolkata.

Joydeep’s professional zeal and managerial abilities have all contributed to his extraordinary success. In his 20 years of career, he was bestowed with several awards and accolades.
In his current role as an Executive Housekeeper at JW Marriott Kolkata, he will be seen to accentuate guest experience at the hotel, understand how departmental activities affect the financial goals and objectives of the hotel, contribute his experience in the financial administration of the hotel, operating statements and payroll progress reports. He will play a vital role in elevating the hotel’s market profile and increasing employee engagement in order to help the property reach its pinnacle.
Joydeep believes that there are always long-term prospects for his future endeavors. He will work closely with the hotel’s leadership team to positively impact and achieve overall hotel goals and offer the guests a truly memorable experience.
