Omicron threat: Section 144 imposed in Mumbai

Today and tomorrow, as Maharashtra sees in most cases, Section 144 has been imposed in Mumbai due to the danger posed by the Omicron Covid variant. Section 144 has been charged in Mumbai for today and tomorrow due to a total of 17 Omicron cases in Maharashtra, the highest in any state in the country. Rallies, morchas, or processions of people or vehicles have been prohibited in Mumbai to prevent further spread. If the order is broken, action will be taken.

According to Mumbai Police sources, implementing Section 144 was made for two reasons. The first reason was a rally planned by the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) party, which brought several workers to Mumbai, and party chief Asaduddin Owaisi is expected to attend as well. The police hold denied permission for the rally due to the Omicron threat, but AIMIM is still holding it.

The second reason was the BJP’s planned protests in response to Sanjay Raut’s statement. On Friday, seven new cases of the Omicron variant were reported in Maharashtra. The new variant has also affected a three-year-old child. According to the state health department, three points were from Mumbai, and four were from the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation.

The three Mumbai patients are all males, aged 48, 25, and 37, with a history of international travel to Tanzania, the United Kingdom, and South Africa. According to the most recent update, India’s Omicron tally is 32. When the city reported three new issues of the Omicron coronavirus variant, bringing Maharashtra’s total to 17 and India’s total to 32, Mumbai police ordered a two-day ban on large gatherings, according to news agency PTI. An official told PTI that the restrictions were imposed within the commissionerate limits of Mumbai, prohibiting rallies and protest marches involving people and vehicles over the next two days.

He declared the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Operations) issued the order, which will be in effect for 48 hours on Saturday and Sunday. “It was issued to prevent danger to human life from the new Omicron variant of COVID-19, as well as a threat to law and order in the aftermath of the violence in Amravati, Malegaon, and Nanded,” he explained.
The state health department conveyed seven new cases of the Omicron variant of coronavirus on Friday, including a three-and-a-half-year-old girl. The 48-year-old traveler who returned from Tanzania was a resident of the densely populated Dharavi area, according to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation. Still, he was asymptomatic and isolated before mingling in the community. On December 1, the 25-year-old traveler returned from London and tested positive for COVID-19, despite receiving both doses of the vaccine. According to the civic body, he tested positive for COVID-19 on December 4, has mild symptoms, and has not received any quantity of the COVID-19 vaccine. His two close contacts tested negative for the virus. He showed no signs of COVID-19.

On December 4, the 37-year-old Gujarat resident tested positive for COVID-19. According to the BMC, he was taken directly from the airport to the hospital and had mild symptoms despite being fully vaccinated. The other four new patients were reported from the Pune district’s Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC). According to a report from the corporation, they are all contacts of three women who arrived from Nigeria and were previously found to have Omicron infection.

According to the report, four of the seven new patients were fully vaccinated. According to the report, four new patients were asymptomatic, while the other three had only minor symptoms. According to the statement, 61,439 international visitors have arrived in the state through Mumbai, Pune, and Nagpur airports since December 1. There were 9,678 from “at-risk” countries among them.
