Diet and nutrition advice to stay healthy during India’s heatwave

Since the start of the summer season in March of this year, many states have reported severe heat conditions, with several locations recording maximum temperatures between 40 and 45 degrees. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the present heatwave might worsen over the following five days.

Intense heat may be dangerous to one’s health, causing dehydration, heat cramps, heat exhaustion, and heatstroke. Aside from limiting your exposure to the sun, wearing protective accessories and clothing, and keeping your home cool, you must also follow specific diet and nutrition guidelines to stay fit and healthy.

In such a case, diet and nutrition are crucial. Staying hydrated and eating cooling meals instead of heat-producing foods are essential techniques to keep the body incredible during a heatwave.

During a heatwave, these are the foods you should eat.

*A refreshing and hydrating combination of cucumber and celery juice with fresh mint.

*A seasonal fruit with an increased water range, watermelon.

Tomatoes are high in vitamin C and are hydrating.

*Fennel seeds are cooling and may be ingested early in the morning in the form of fennel seed water.

*Cumin seeds are very cooling and may be ingested with water or juice in the morning.
*Because curd and curd-based meals are cooling, they are beneficial to one’s health.
