JW marriott Kolkata basked in the yuletide spirit with a gala cake mixing ceremony

Christmas is incomplete without the traditional Christmas cake which is said to be a long-standing ceremonial practice that dates back to Biblical times and also was historically honored in the massive family get-togethers. 

Like every year JW Marriott Kolkata performed an annual geniality routine on 19th  November, in which the hotel celebrated the traditional cake-mixing ceremony with city enthusiasts, loyal patrons, in- house members and associates as one unit making it a grand affair.

The traditional cake-mixing festival begins a month before Christmas and is believed to be the harbinger of celebration and happiness. 

Before the cake is baked, the energy and enthusiasm of blending various ingredients ushers in the Yuletide cheer.

An assortment of fruits and nuts is accumulated during this time and used to bake delicious traditional plum cake.

All elements like spirits, dry fruits, cherries, dates, and spices are thoroughly assimilated and infused in shades such as brandy, rum, and wine to mature before the actual baking. 

The evening witnessed the connoisseurs and famous faces of the city donning the apron, cap and gloves, coming together to tackle the colorful mounds of dry fruits, nuts, and other concoctions to herald in the festive, joyous Christmas season.
