Celebrate Poila Baisakh at Yauatcha, Kolkata with a chef’s special festive menu

This year, usher in the New Year with a sense of positivity, joy and cheer as Yauatcha, the dim sum teahouse from London, introduces a limited-edition festive menu available from 7th April until 21st April, 2022.

Chef Kushal Lama, Head Chef at the restaurant has curated a seafood special menu along with a few vegetarian offerings as part of the menu. The menu is inspired from indigenous ingredients and flavours native to Bengali cuisine and culture.

The exquisite menu features dishes like Seafood Wonton with Tofu in Clear Broth that is shaped like a hibiscus flower and garnished with goji berries. This dish pays homage to the daily rituals of this festival, where women decorate their hair with flowers and visit the temple. Additionally, the Prawn and Scallop Gondhoraj Dumpling incorporates Bengal’s best kept secret – the Gondhoraj lime, wherein the sweet flavour from the fruit compliments the comforting taste of the fish. Another must-have is the Hot Mustard Seafood Noodle, which is tossed using the traditional Wok Hei technique and prepared with indigenous mustard sauce popularly known as Kasundi in West Bengal. Vegetarian options include Yauatcha’s signature Cheung Fun Noodle in Chilli Garlic Sauce and Crispy Asparagus Pumpkin and Corn Roll.

Satiate your sweet cravings with an indulgent Gondhoraj Sorbet with Caramelised Puff Rice made especially for the summer season. This delectable dessert cuts through the heat with its refreshing flavour and acts as the perfect palette cleanser to end the celebratory meal on a high note.

Bid adieu to the year gone by and join us in welcoming Noboborsho with great revelry and joy. Celebrate this Poila Baisakh with a memorable meal experience at Yauatcha Kolkata
