Teak tree (Tectona grandis genus), one of the most important timber trees, the vast leafy tree of the Verbenaceae family or its wood. For over 2,000 years, teak has been commonly utilized in India. Teak is the name of the word tækka of Malayalam.

The tree has a stem (thickened at the base) straight and often supports, with its stretching crown and four faces with a substantial four-sided pith.

The leaves in young, approximately 0.5 meters (1.5 feet) long and 23 cm (9 inches) broad, are opposing or sometimes curled. They look like tobacco plants in shape, but their substance is tough on the surface.

In enormous, tall, cross-branched panicles, the branches end in many tiny white flowers. The fruit is 1.7 cm (two-thirds of an inch) in diameter drupe (fleshy, stony seed). The stem’s bark is approximately 1⁄3 cm (half an inch) thick, grey to grey brownish, sapwood white; the uneasy heartwood has a lovely and powerful perfume and a gorgeous golden yellow, dark brown, with darker stripes the seasoning.

The wood keeps its unique aroma for a long time. The tree grows in the north and around the 25th parallel, in most of this area, and the 32nd parallel in Punjab.

Native to India, Myanmar (Burma), and Thailand. The tree is not found near the sea. On low hills up to roughly 900 meters is the most valuable woodlands (3,000 feet). The Philippines and Java are also known as stands in the Malay Islands and abroad. In Africa, Central America, and South America, Teak is also planted.

The tree is leafless during a dry season; in hot places, in January, leaves fall, but the tree is green in humid areas until March. The first mountain rainfall will lead to a new leaf at the end of the dry season. Although the tree flowers extensively, there are tiny seeds since most flowers are infertile.
