Kenshi Yonezu Creates His Own Shin Ultraman Theme Song CD Jacket Illustration

A unique clip introducing the cast members’ and Yonezu’s comments are being aired.

On his official Twitter account, Japanese singer-songwriter Kenshi Yonezu has uploaded a CD sleeve illustration for “M87” (Emu Hachiju-Nana), the title song for the upcoming all-new live-action feature Shin Ultraman. Ultraman’s profile illustration was created by himself. It will be released as her new single on May 18, five days after the film’s Japanese premiere, as his 12th CD single.

Meanwhile, a special clip featuring the major cast members’ and Yonezu’s comments, which was shown in Japanese theatres, is now available on TOHO MOVIE’s official YouTube channel:

  • Takumi Saito (Shinji Kaminaga): “Thinking back to my days as a cinema boy, it would be incredible if it came true.”
  • Hidetoshi Nishijima (Kimio Tamura): “I really wanted to accomplish this, so I was surprised that we could pull it off!”
  • “They still hold on to the goals and dreams they had as youngsters,” Masami Nagasawa (Hiroko Asami) says.
  • “The work is packed with affection for Ultraman,” says Daiki Arioka (Akihisa Taki).
  • “I was very pleased to be able to immerse into the world perspective myself,” says Akari Hayami (Yumi Funaberi).
  • “I think you have to be someone who knows pain to be extremely powerful,” says Kenshi Yonezu.
