Park Shin Hye, happy birthday. Today marks the 31st birthday of the great actress (32 years according to Korean age). Park Shin Hye has been an actress since she was in her late teens. She rose to prominence in 2003 as the younger version of Choi Ji-character woo’s in the iconic Korean drama Stairway to Heaven. She went on to perform several supporting roles in various plays. She debuted as a cross-dressing heroine in the romantic-comedy musical drama You’re Beautiful, co-starring Jang Keun-suk.

She has since starred in several blockbuster Korean dramas alongside top Hallyu performers. She most recently appeared in JTBC’s 10th anniversary special fantasy-mystery drama Sisyphus: The Myth. She portrays Kang Seo Hae, an elite and skilled warrior from the future who must battle against all obstacles to preserve the brilliant engineer Han Tae Sul, played by Cho Seung Woo. Shin Hye portrays Yoo Hye Jung, a brilliant and bold doctor who finds it difficult to trust anybody because of her terrible background. After meeting Dr. Hong Ji Hong, she becomes more trusting and open, performed by renowned actor Kim Rae Won. Lee Sung Kyung and Yoon Kyun Sang have important parts in the drama as well.

Park Shin Hye portrays Choi In Ha, a stubborn and strong-willed character who aspires to be a respected reporter like her mother. She does, however, have Pinocchio syndrome (she cannot lie). It’s a fantastic socio-commentary on politics and ethics and her fight against an unjust system. Her chemistry with her ‘grand-uncle,’ Choi Dal Po, played by Lee Jong Suk, is also noteworthy.
You’re Beautiful
Shin Hye plays a transgender heroine in this romantic comedy musical drama. She takes on the twin identities of Go Min Nyeo, aka Gemma, and Go Mi Nam and joins the famous band A.N.JELL to assist her twin brother in keeping his spot in the band when she meets the gorgeous lead singer Hwang Tae Kyung, portrayed by Jang Geun Suk, her life changes.
The Heirs
Park Shin Hye plays Cha Eun Sang, an impoverished yet dignified young girl who works part-time jobs to make ends meet in this classic Cinderella story. She meets the youthful and boisterous Kim Tan, played by Lee Min Ho, and they embark on an unlikely relationship. Park Shin Hye and Lee Min Ho have sizzling chemistry in this Kdrama adolescent rom-com.
