The couple stated it was their baby’s first game, and they kept staring at those balls throughout the game, wondering if they would come near them.
When it comes to parents, multitasking appears to be a daily occurrence. Taking things to a whole next level, a father managed to catch a baseball while bottle-feeding his infant at a baseball game. The spectacular footage of his catch has awed people worldwide, and he is now being dubbed “parent of the year.”
While fans collecting a foul ball during a game is nothing uncommon, the father did so while holding a bottle of milk to his son with the other hand. The remarkable incident occurred when the ball sailed into the seats during a Major League Baseball (MLB) game between the Cincinnati Reds and the San Diego Padres in Cincinnati.
The ball was seen on camera flying towards the audience during the top of the fifth inning, with many standing up to catch it. The dad, with his child strapped to his chest, on the other hand, caught it while seated.
Naturally, everyone around him was ecstatic and pleased, particularly a woman seated behind him, who was taken aback. The woman subsequently discovered to be his wife was equally concerned about what might have happened if the charging ball had struck their child.
According to cincinnati.com, the couple stated it was their baby’s first game, and they kept gazing at those balls throughout the game, wondering if they would come near them. “Safety first,” the father said as he described the tense scene to the news outlet, adding that he was just trying to save his youngster.
They claimed that their son never missed a beat and was most likely oblivious of what had occurred. They added that it would be a good story to tell him in the future.
People on social media praised his quick action and praised him for the spectacular grab and for generating beautiful memories for his son.
The commentators and fans around him were completely taken aback by the incredible performance. To top it all off, the infant didn’t even flinch or move a muscle, indicating that he was more concerned with getting fed than with some ball.
The Reds lost the game 9-6, but this fan will never forget it. He’ll remember being named “Dad of the Year” for performing a feat like this off the bat of Campusano, one of the Padres’ best players.
