plans to capture Marathi ethos and give a national platform to young theatre enthusiasts in the region

Launched with the vision to set new benchmarks in the Marathi General Entertainment Channel category, QYOU Media India’s Q Marathi, the latest entrant in the space, is leaving no stone unturned in entertaining its viewers with culturally rooted content.

In a bid to further delight its viewers with innovative content and drive engagement among the local youth, Q Marathi announces ‘Q Marathi YouthFull Mahakarandak’, a first-of-its-kind non-fiction programming initiative, presented by Veet and co-presented by Lizol and Garnier along with leading short-format app Chingari as Digital Partner.

The maiden non-fiction offering will showcase more than 25 handpicked Act Plays, known as Ekankika. ‘Q Marathi YouthFull Mahakarandak’ will premiere on 7th October 2022 and air daily at 7:30 PM.

In Maharashtra, theatre is a prominent narrative style. This post-pandemic programme encourages and provides a platform for emerging talent to present entertaining, relevant, and thought-provoking plays.

In an effort to bring the best of the plays, Q Marathi conducted city-wise judging and screening of the semi-final rounds across key cities of Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Pune, Nashik, and Aurangabad, and received a tremendous response of over 70+ entries across young theatre groups of multiple colleges and independent theatre groups.

The handpicked plays will be judged by distinguished Marathi veteran actor Dr. Girish Oak, Director, Writer, and Actor Chandrakant Kulkarni, and acclaimed Marathi actress Aditi Sarangdhar, giving the opportunity to the youth of Maharashtra to express their experiences.

Q Marathi will provide prizes in categories like as Best Ekankika, Best Actor Female and Male, Best Writer, Director, Light, Set Design, and Music to promote these Ekankikas and nurture emerging talent.

Furthermore, in order to increase audience interaction, the channel has launched ‘Watch & Vote,’ which will award one of the finalists as the ‘Viewers’ Choice Winner.’
