IPRS, Partners with The ZIRO Festival of Music 2022 to promote independent musicians from the Northeast
The Indian Performing Right Society Limited (IPRS), India’s sole copyright organization that represents more than 8000 eminent authors, composers, and publishers across the nation, attended the ZIRO Festival of Music.
To educate music aficionados about the advantages of licensing and the types of music copyrights available.
IPRS has been relentlessly working towards protecting the copyrights of independent lyricists and musicians. They want to educate the artists in tier 2 and 3 cities. This is the first initiative in that direction.
At the festival, artists were explained the plethora of advantages of licensing to music composers, and songwriters and how registering with IPRS will safeguard their creations.
Ziro Festival of Music is the 1st music event in the Northeast that realized the importance of legitimately using copyrighted Music and giving the creators of music their rightful dues and took a license from the IPRS.
At the festival, participants from various segments and genres of the music industry learned about IPRS, and its theatre of operations.

The role of the IPRS is to legitimize use of copyrighted Music by Music users by issuing them Licences and collecting royalties from Music Users, for and on behalf of IPRS members.

The IPRS team met and educated budding artists, musicians, and lyricists about music copyrights at the Ziro Festival of Music.
These young musicians will soon be on board IPRS as members. Once on board, IPRS can help them protect their music and earn royalties from it.
IPRS is the first copyright body that is traveling across the country to educate musicians on the benefits of associating with them.
The IPRS has already conducted its proprietary “Learn and Earn” workshop, in Chennai, Hyderabad, and Kolkata. It is planning to conduct the same in Punjab shortly.
