Heatwave conditions in eight states and storm Asani are expected to emerge on March 21

According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), heatwave conditions are predicted to prevail in eight states as temperatures have surged throughout northern, western, and central India. Heatwave to severe heatwave conditions is expected in various regions of West and East Rajasthan today, according to the MeT department.

Heatwave conditions are also expected in isolated pockets across the Jammu division, Himachal Pradesh and Gujarat area, West Madhya Pradesh, and Vidarbha on March 17, as well as over interior Odisha and Telangana on March 16-17.

According to the IMD, no substantial change in maximum temperatures is forecast primarily throughout northwest India and Gujarat during the next 48 hours.

Meanwhile, a low-pressure region is forming over the southwest Indian Ocean, and it is anticipated to develop into a cyclone by early next week. Forecasts indicate that the low-pressure region will travel east-northeastwards, becoming a well-defined low-pressure area over the southeast Bay of Bengal and the bordering south Andaman Sea around March 19 morning, before strengthening into a depression.

According to the meteorological service, the depression will deepen into a cyclonic storm on March 21 and continue to travel north-northwestwards into Bangladesh and neighboring north Myanmar until March 22. As indicated by Sri Lanka, the cyclone will be called Asani.

“During March 19, sea conditions are likely to become rough to very rough over the Andaman Sea and the adjoining southeast Bay of Bengal. On March 20, it will get obscene to a high over the same area. “According to the IMD, fishermen should avoid the southeast Bay of Bengal and the Andaman Sea between March 17 and 18.
