‘Hindustani Way,’ a cheer song for the Tokyo Olympics, is released by AR Rahman and Ananya Birla.

Ananya Birla has collaborated with music master AR Rahman to create a cheer song for Indian athletes to prepare for the Tokyo Olympics. The song, titled “Hindustani Way,” was sung by Ananya and composed by Rahman. Anurag Thakur, Minister of Information and Broadcasting, released the song on Tuesday, saying, “Let me congratulate Ananya and AR Rahman for taking the initiative.”

“I want every Indian to hear it, share it, and shout for India.” The song “Hindustani Way” has become an earworm, and with the Olympics approaching, we may hear it more frequently in the coming weeks. This video concerning the song gives a family from 1996 to the present as they cheer on Indian athletes over several Olympic seasons.

The movie includes archive footage from Atlanta (1996), Athens (2004), Beijing (2008), London (2012), and Rio (2016), as well as unique training footage from this year’s contingent. Among those seen in the vintage footage are Leander Peas, Vijender Singh, Abhinav Bindra, Mary Kom, Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, PV Sindhu, and Sakshi Malik.

This Tokyo Olympics was deemed to take place in 2020. However, they were pushed back owing to the epidemic. The event will eventually begin on July 23rd.
