After the Grand success of ARABICA COFFEE BLOOMS – TALK SHOW TO INSPIRE MILLIONS & THUNDERBOLTS Training sessions, POSITIVE THOUGHTS Launched its First Episode of Global Conference “COLLOQUIUM” on 19th June, 21. @ 6:00 PM IST through ZOOM as well as showcased on “FACEBOOK LIVE” on the official page of “POSITIVE THOUGHTS”.
The show was moderated by Dr. Raina Khatri Tandon (Founder, Right 2 Rise, Break Through Coach, POSH Compliant Expert, International Speaker) and Ms. Sonesh Bhardwaj, who is a Global Motivational Speaker, Leadership Mentor, Trainer, Business Coach from India. They highlighted about the Positive Thoughts that it is a Global community of Super Positive Eminent Speakers, Trainers, Coaches, Educationists from all across the country and from many different countries, on a mission to empower millions of souls for ”STRESS FREE EDUCATION” and “STRESS FREE LIFE.”
Today’s interaction was on “THE “A” IN STEAM – ADDING IN THE ARTS”. As brain science backs up the important outcomes of arts-integration so why do we struggle to infuse the arts in our content and curriculum. It’s an exploration on why adding in the arts, the “A” in STEAM education, matters so much in every classroom.
With this love of interacting with the community, hearing their stories, and learning from their experiences, our first guest on COLLOQUIUM was Ms. Rania Lampou from Greece. She is a Global STEM Educator, Neuro Education Researcher in Greek Ministry of Education & Religious Affairs.
Ms. Rania Lampou said that The “A” is an Integral part of STEM
STEM might be necessary for technological progress, but without the arts,it is impossible for students to reach their full potential. Art subject gives students the freedom to harness the capabilities of STEM subjects.
The “A” in STEAM is a term that represents liberal arts, language arts, social studies, physical arts, fine arts, and music. STEAM education is about applying creative thinking to STEM projects, igniting students’ imagination and creativity through the arts. It also exploring where art naturally fits into the STEM subjects. Studying art subjects contributes to the development of essential skills like collaboration, communication, problem-solving, and critical thinking. It also enhances a student’s flexibility, adaptability, productivity, responsibility, and innovation. All of these skills are required for a successful career in any field of study. She also talks about the neuroart & the positive power of art.
Our second guest was Dr. Tania Simmons from USA who is a Global Entrepreneur, International Humanitarian, Empowerment Speaker, Professional Educator. Dr. Tania put lights on Art + Science = Progress. Science and art go hand-in-hand, Scientists and artists don’t seem to have much in common but if you dig a little deeper you will realize that art and science are not so separate. It is easy to see that science has changed our creative fields by advanced technology but often, artists’ new insights and perspectives that impact scientific progress are eclipse. Nowadays with technology getting faster, smaller and more complex,the sciences have started to rely on the arts more than ever for solutions and creative ideas.
Our next guest was Mr. Prajwal Bhattarai from Nepal who is an Academic Activist, Multiple World Record Holder, Social Entrepreneur. Mr. Prajwal said that The ‘Art’ in STEAM represents visual arts, social studies, history, physical arts, fine arts and music. Art is about using creativity and imagination to increase the development of STEM’s essential skills, as well as enhance flexibility, adaptability, productivity, responsibility and innovation – all required skills for a successful career in any field of study.
The next guest was Dr. Ruby Bakshi Khurdi from Switzerland who is a Award winner Innovative Educationist, TEDx Speaker, Author, Expert Trainer. She talks about 3-E Theory. Educate, Empathise & Empower. Practising 3 E Theory: Learning New Skills, Practice Emotional Intelligence, Evaluate your Abilities Honestly, Be open to change, Help & Support people.
The next guest was Dr. Balachander L from India who is a Multi Award Winner Leadership Coach, Trainer, Resource person. He said that slotting the arts into a child’s STEM education have proven benefits such as increased creativity, improved academic performance, increased motor skills, higher decision making skills, better visual learning and an enhanced learning experience.
Our next guest was Ms. Purvi Srivastava from Canada who is a Founder, PowerWave Skills, HR Professional, Certified Mindset & Resilience Practitioner, Mentor & Educator. She said that the inclusion of arts in STEM learning – the A in STEAM – is much more than learning about color and singing songs. STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) promotes inquiry-based learning through the application of skills such as collaboration, communication, creativity, and critical thinking to real-life situations. The inclusion of arts shines a light on the value of creativity and innovation in processing new information and problem-solving. Research, teacher experiences, and testimonials all attest to the benefits of integrating arts.
Our next guest was Ms. Tamar Lolishvill from Georgia who is an English Teacher, International Project Manager, Peace Educator. She said that STEM may be necessary for technological progress, but without the arts it is impossible for students to reach their full potential because art subjects give students the freedom to harness the capabilities of STEM subjects. It increases interaction, makes the STEM topics more enjoyable, thought provoking and increases student engagement. Teachers can add arts into STEM by applying graphics to projects. They can also using the performing arts to communicate a STEM project. Students can utilize their artistic talents to generate innovative thinking.
