Technological University of the Shannon (TUS) signs MOU

The partnership sets foot in furtherance of their common interests in education, research, and scholarship, and as a contribution to increased international cooperation between them

In light of India’s increasing prominence as a hub for ongoing educational advances and cross-border cooperation, Technological University of the Shannon, supported by Education in Ireland, recently formed an institutional alliance with MIT World Peace University, Pune.

The collaboration attempts to develop cooperation between institutions within the framework of applicable policies and subject to resource availability.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed at Dr. Vishwanath Karad MIT World Peace University, Pune, by Mr. Donnacha McNamara, Vice President International Dean, Business and Humanities (TUS), Mr. Tapan Panda, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (MIT), and Mr. Rahul Karad, Executive President (MIT).

“Intra-institute partnerships are a key element of TUS’s internationalization objectives, this signing with MIT WPU Pune is an exciting launchpad for further collaboration in a variety of arenas including mobility of staff, students and researchers. We look forward to this journey and development with the team at MIT Pune to further enhance and amplify the running objectives for both universities”.

Mr. Donnacha McNamara, Vice President, TUS said,

The Memorandum of Understanding signed by both universities intends to work together on programme mapping to investigate the transfer of undergraduate students, graduate students, and research scientists.

Participation in seminars and academic meetings, as well as research collaboration between the two, will also be part of the agreement. This association will facilitate the exchange of publications, academic resources, and other information between universities.

Working toward Joint quality assurance and benchmarking will also be taken into consideration.

“It is a tremendous pleasure to have inked the first MoU between MIT World Peace University, India, and the Technological University of Shannon, Ireland.” This level corresponds to larger collaborative efforts for academic and co-curricular activities between the cooperating universities. It will undoubtedly open additional doors in the coming days. TUS has a distinct identity as the newest and most innovative technology university, with over 14,000 students scattered over six sites. Similarly, MIT World Peace University is well-known as a forerunner in providing value-based holistic education to its students in order to bring about life transformation. Coordination between these two distinct institutions will undoubtedly be mutually advantageous, not just for the institutions but also for the students and faculty. We are looking forward to a fruitful collaboration”.

Degree reciprocity and cross-border collaborations are an important role and are growing every day as a result of reformation in National Education Policy, so institutes all over the world must work together to provide holistic education and upskill students who are the future of tomorrow.
