MESC and Jagran lakecity University join hands to upgrade employable skills of the students

Bhopal: Media & Entertainment Skills Council (MESC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Jagran lakecity University (JLU) at university premises in Bhopal during the Vth JLU International Festival of Media & Design.

The maiden MOU affirms a long-standing partnership between MESC and JLU to strengthen the existing programs and offer industry-oriented new edge programs embedded with On-Job training (OJT) and Apprenticeship as per the new education policy. The MoU signing ceremony took place in the presence of Mr. Hari Mohan Gupta, Chancellor, Jagran Lakecity University, Mr. Ashish Kulkarni, Founder, Punnaryug and Mr. Mohit Soni, Chief Executive Officer, MESC.

The aim of this MOU is to provide students with marketable and industry-oriented skills so that they can enter the workforce right away. Students will be offered industry-oriented Media & Entertainment programmes in JLU, in order to achieve the goal.

“This MOU is a major milestone not only in further strengthening media education but also in skilling youth in rural areas of Central India, particularly Madhya Pradesh, in various aspects of emerging new media and providing them with alternative job & entrepreneurship opportunities,” Said Mr. Hari Mohan Gupta. “This association gives chances to students seeking a career in the M&E sector,” Mr. Mohit Soni, CEO, MESC remarked.

Industry-oriented programmes are in high demand, and we are working hard to increase placement and career prospects by including apprenticeship programmes into media education. There will be possibilities for students to improve their business/employable skills through events such as job fairs, apprenticeships, expert training, and more.

“By applying the New Education Policy throughout all of our vocational training institutions and promoting diverse career options within the M&E sector, this MOU will boost the skilling ecosystem.” Mr. Soni further added. MESC will work closely with its members and industry associations through its Education & Skill Development programmes to improve the quality of employable skills of students at universities and their related study institutes. MESC has been collaborating with industry and academic partners to upgrade the effectiveness of students’ employable skills
