JEE (Joint Entrance Exam) Main and the National Eligibility and Entrance Test (NEET) look unlikely to be postponed despite student protests worldwide. In a fresh set of guidelines released on Tuesday evening, the NTA said that the NEET would be held on September 13 and JEE from September 1 to September 6.

Thousands of students worldwide are protesting against the government’s decision to hold JEE and NEET entrance exams in the coming month.

When is the whole world fighting against a pandemic, why? Just so that our future will be better. Our younger generation survives. But the irony is that these future generations, these students are forced to attend JEE and NEET exam. You can’t even imagine the amount of risk during this event. One transmission can lead to thousands of new cases. The biggest irony is that all these ministers are scared of gathering at the parliament and attending video conferences to adhere to the exam, which might risk thousands of lives.

Why postpone the exams :

  1. Exams were conducted in various parts of nations, and conditions were not right. Social distancing and other precautions were not taken properly.
  2. Floods in parts of Assam and Bihar. How will students be able to study if their houses are flooded? How will they reach the exam center?
  3. Some students living in rural areas got their centers 100km of away in the city. How will they be able to travel? If railways and other public transport are suspended.
